On the 2nd January 2015, BOSS Business Office Services was launched from an office in Ventnor, here on the Isle of Wight. Today, I'm celebrating seven years of providing admin, secretarial and office support to so many Island businesses, some of whom are just starting on their own business journeys, and being able to take some of the pressures off of them so they can focus on achieving success.
I've also enjoyed bringing to life stories, memoirs and writing projects for people who finally wanted to see their writing in print. Seeing the joy in the faces of those who have been able to hold their published book in their hands is something that I will always be so very proud of.

It's been a fabulous journey for me; sometimes challenging (especially the techie stuff), sometimes frustrating but always fun, interesting and I'm constantly learning. Being Chief Executive of All Things means I also get to choose when, where and how I like to work! Enjoying holidays, watching the sailing in Cannes or walking in the hills and mountains of the Amalfi coast - I combine my love of travel with my work - success all round. Friends and colleagues know me well for providing holiday zoom backgrounds!
In 2015, my office in Ventnor was one of several rooms on the top floor of local council offices which had been refurbished and then rented out to local businesses. It had an amazing sea view, which was often a source of inspiration and provided a lovely base from which to launch the business.
Two years ago, in March 2020, like most people, I had no choice but to work from home because of the Covid pandemic - having spent five years in the office this could have proved difficult, but in fact it opened many new doors. People began to realise that working from home could continue to provide a professional service, and so I took the decision to work permanently from home and gave up the Ventnor office. Did I miss it? No, although I do miss the sea view but that's now replaced with a superb view of green countryside from my home office.
I never truly thought that I would still be running the business, single-handedly, seven years later. I thoroughly enjoy my work - it allows me to use all my skills and experience in supporting people whether it be typing surveys, creating templates for reports, audio typing, copy typing, taking minutes for Trust Boards, running minute-taking and office-skills courses or helping businesses along their own journeys by providing behind-the-scenes support.

So, a big thank you to everyone who has helped me on my journey - let's celebrate!
