Is it autumn yet?

Well, you'd be forgiven for thinking that maybe autumn has already arrived. Early September and the temperature has dropped, the wind is blowing again and the clouds are rolling in. Sounds familiar? Or was that summer?

July and August are traditionally quieter months for me, and this year was no different, so it gave me time to work on systems and processes that needed revamping, sort out business paperwork and generally be on track for a busy autumn. From October, there's usually a significant increase in 'one-off' requests, where businesses have had their summer overhauls and realised they need a bit of background admin support for short periods. This works well for me as one-off requests usually fit in with work which is already scheduled in months in advance.

Of course, I've ensured that I take time off to be with family and friends, and to do a bit of travelling. We visited Lake Garda in August - not always the best time to visit Italy but it was absolutely stunning. The small town we stayed in meant that we weren't always in the hustle and bustle of the bigger, more well-known towns, and whilst it was lovely to visit them, it was always a joy to return to 'our' little town. I know we will return!
